As Chief Executive, Petra heads up the PAS staff team and oversees the organisation’s strategic direction and development. With her outward-facing role, Petra represents the organisation externally, creating new opportunities for PAS to improve engagement in planning.
Petra serves as the key point of liaison with the PAS Board. In day to day operations, Petra is supported by a team of portfolio managers, support services and a PA.
Manager – Training

David is responsible for the development and delivery of training programmes. David is a key point of contact for PAS corporate members, local authorities and agencies seeking PAS training and education programmes. A licentiate member of the RTPI, David has an MSc in Urban Planning & Real Estate from the University of Aberdeen, where his research explored public participation in the ‘charrette’ model within the built environment.

Julia is responsible for co-ordinating and developing the wide range of services offered by PAS. She is a chartered town planner (MRTPI) with experience as a planner in the public and private sectors, most recently as a Planning Director at Turley Associates. Julia has worked as a planner in both the UK and South Africa and is an active member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Volunteering is at the heart of what we do at PAS and Robert is the lynchpin, bringing our volunteers and staff together to provide all of our services. In addition, Robert manages our internship opportunities.
Robert has been instrumental in helping PAS achieve Investing in Volunteers status, not just once but twice. The accreditation recognises our professional approach to volunteer management.

David is a chartered town planner (MRTPI) and co-ordinates PAS’s responses to policy consultations. He previously worked for a planning consultancy and was a PAS volunteer before joining the team full time. David leads our SP=EED Verification engagement skills programme, was closely involved in the launch of PAS’s Charretteplus pilot and has led subsequent projects. He also contributes to our planning helpline and represents PAS in various forums and networks.

Jenny heads up the Support Services team and is responsible for office management, finance and human resources. She is the longest serving member of staff, having started back in 2002 as PAS Co-ordinator.

Laura is part of the team responsible for setting up and delivering PAS projects. Laura also works with the Training & Communications Manager to ensure the smooth delivery of a wide range of training and education activities, as well as compiling the weekly e-bulletin.

Wojciech is the newest PAS team member and was also a PAS volunteer. Following his academic studies, focused on urbanism and public engagement, as well as some planning experience in the private sector, he is now responsible for the HLF-funded project “In the Footsteps of Geddes”, liaising with strategic partners and participants, including volunteers. The project encourages and recognises active citizenship among young people, building on the legacy of Sir Patrick Geddes, the father of modern-day town planning.
